the french know what’s up

i find it kind of funny and i find it kind of sad that in french, the word ‘amateur’ means lover as well as, obviously, amateur. but in actuality, i think they got this correct. what is a lover of something if not an amateur? an amateur to the knowledge of what they’re getting themselves into, unsure of the facts.

love for anything can be tricky. everything and everyone has the potential to disappoint. in my mind, an amateur is accurately described as someone inexperienced in a particular field. and love goes hand in hand with inexperience. the more time you spend, or experience you get with something, the less likely you are to be in love. the truth always comes out. ya dig? i’m totally insane.
